In the early 1960s, amidst heightened tensions between the USSR and the United States, the first Soviet nuclear submarine, the K-3, embarked on a mission beneath the Arctic Ocean ice. Despite extreme weather conditions and serious damage on board, its crew was to achieve a historic objective: to surface directly above the North Pole.
