ROWING FOR GOLD

The film is based on the true story of a man whose incredible fate proves that the strength of spirit can work miracles even in the most challenging times. Young blockade survivor Yura Tyukalov (Gleb Kaluzhny) came to sports after the war when he seemed to have no strength left to live, let alone endure exhausting training in rowing. But after meeting coaches Mikhail and Vera Savrimovich (Artem Bystrikov and Elena Lyadova), Yura finds a second wind and begins his life anew. Lives scarred by war come together in a team where everyone supports and inspires each other. Victories do not come easily, but Yura possesses love, talent, and a close-knit team that cannot be stopped: their goal is the Olympics in Helsinki.
