THE FLOOD

Winter training camp of the junior swimming team at a country training base. Anya (18) the niece of the coach of the group Sofia (35) and her husband Trofim (40) was accepted into the group without selection as an exception. This fact provokes aggression and dislike on the part of other athletes. No one wants to communicate with a girl who was taken to the group "by pull", who is also dumb from birth. For everyone, she is an annoying factor. Only Dima (18) pays attention to her and falls in love with the girl. Their relationship provokes scandals and quarrels not only in the group, but also within Sophia's family. During another conflict, Sophia accidentally kills her niece, and her husband Trofim creates an alibi, in which the girl could commit suicide. Her lover Dima takes responsibility for the girl's death and cannot cope with her loss. Anya's death causes a new round of relations between Trofim and Sophia. A couple who couldn't have a child is starting a new life and waiting for replenishment. However, the dumb Anya, like a mermaid, turns out to be vindictive towards her offenders. You can't build happiness on someone else's misfortune, one of the characters in the film says pointedly at the end.
