In a few weeks, the ballet "Gayane" is to premiere, but it is not ready. In attempting to complete the work, the composer faces strict censorship requirements. Before the final rehearsal, Khachaturian unexpectedly receives an order from the directorate to create one more dance for the final part of the ballet. In eight hours, the composer will write his most famous work.
